The outline of the game and How To Play of 'Hundred Swords demo'etc. have been described in this file. Please read it through before playing the game by all means. Moreover, information and the support, etc. concerning this game are scheduled to be done in Web site [http://www.sega.co.jp/sega/pc] of SEGA PC. Note: This game plays pretty much the same as Warcraft. It's just a matter of figuring out the controls (since they are in japanese). ============================== 2. About the Hundred Swords demo ============================== In the Hundred Swords demo, only the first two beginner's class missions of Mission Mode can be played. The following modes are available only in the full version, they cannot be played in this demo. Adventure Mode Network Mode Practice Record Option It is possible that there might be bugs in this demo version which do not exist in the full version since this demo version was released before the full version was completed. We cannot do anything about that, sorry. ============================== 3. System Requirements ============================== 'Hundred Swords Demo' requires DirectX v7.0a or better to run. We cannot answer any inquiries where your hardware and/or software may differ from ours. Please contact the manufacturer of your hardware and software if problems should arise. These are the minimum system requirements: OS: Windows 95, 98,2000, and ME CPU: Intel Pentium233MHz or more Memory: 64MB or more Video: VRAM8MB or more for video card Direct3D Peripherals: keyboard and mouse ============================== 4. How To Play:To the combat ============================== In this demo, the screen which passes to the combat and How To Play are sequentially explained. - 1. Title screen - Press 'Enter' to get the main menu. - 2. Main menu < Screen where game mode is selected > - Use the mouse to select the game mode to play in. In this Demo, only the Mission mode and Close can be selected. Left-click the mode you want to play and go to the Mission selection screen. - 3:Mission selection screen < Screen where mission is selected > *** - The three buttons across the top select different difficulties of mission (those missions are not available in this demo). - To select a mission, left-click on the mission name (in this demo, only the last two missions of the beginner level are available). - A brief description of the mission will appear in the lower right box. Click OK to accept the mission. The right button is cancel and takes you back to the Main menu). - 4:Force organization screen < Screen where you select a leader and associated equipment which go into combat. > - Selection of leader who goes to the front Click the leftmost button at the top. If there is only one leader in this mission, you will get a confirmation dialog asking if you want to start the combat. Click the left button in the dialog to proceed. The right button cancels the dialog. If there are more than one leaders for a mission, clicking the leftmost button at the top will make two yellow arrows appear to the left and right of the first character in the circle. Select up to 5 characters by clicking on the character between the arrows (a yellow aura will appear around selected characters). After selecting five characters, the combat confirmation dialog will appear. Click the left button in the dialog to proceed to combat. The right button cancels the dialog. Click the second button at the top. A set of yellow arrows will appear to the left and right of the first captain. Click the arrows to review each member of the troop. Click the third button to give suggestions of which characters to play. -Click the BACK button to go back to the Mission selection screen. ============================== 5. How To Play:When combatting (basic) ============================== This is where you learn how to play the game. - Selection of force Move the cursor over the soldier to select and left-click. Note that you are moving the entire force controlled by a single leader, not just a single soldier. The cursor will change to a walk icon. - Movement of force Once the force is selected, right-click on the destination and the force will move there. - The enemy person/the building is attacked. Right-click on an enemy or building to make the force attack the target. - Mining of resource With the force selected, right-click on a resource zone to start mining to resource. A mining rig will first be constructed. Once completed, resources will be mined automatically. A leader must be near the resource to start the construction process. - Construction of barracks With the force selected, you can construct barracks by left-clicking the "Construction" menu (the icon that looks like a shield). A set of choices will appear. Click on a choice to start the construction. When a building a is to be constructed, left-click on the location where the building is to go. *** The is stationed in the barracks. Right-click on a barracks after it is constructed to station the leader there. *** A stationed leader makes a sortie from the barracks. Left-click the leader in the barracks. Left-click the 'Sortie" menu. Make your selection. - Reinforcement of barracks Select the leader in the barracks. Left-click on the reinforcements menu to select the level of reinforcement. - 3 'Arms development''Endurance power UP'and 'Recovery function reinforcement' - The draft of soldier While a leader is stationed in a barracks, more soldiers can be drafted. Left-click the "Soldier Type" menu and select among the various types of soldiers. - Going to the front of leader Left-click on the face of a leader on the right side of the screen to jump to that leader. - Cancellation of selection Put the cursor over a place where the cursor shows no action and left-click. ============================== 6. How To Play:When combatting (application) ============================== Here is combat explained. - Repair of building Select a force then left-click a building to show a 'Building Repair' menu on the right side of ht escreen. Once the leader is adjacent to the building, the building will be repaired. Right-click the building and the leader will be stationed in the building. - Change in force AI *** When a force is selected, left-click the 'Force AI' button then select what kind of AI the force will follow. - The choices for AI are limited by the leader of the force. - Specifying a movement route for a force Relay points which the selected force will follow can be placed by holding the Shift key down and right-clicking on the destination. Release the shift key and right-click the final position to start the force moving. - How to use the shell The shell can be selected from the "Shell" menu with a left-click. - Which shell is available is limited to the leader's capabilities. - [It] boards 飛空艇(unknown word). Hold the Control key down and left-click a soldier to select that soldier for a force of one. - The soldier of this arm the addition is selected. To add another soldier to a force, hold the Shift and Control keys down and left-click the soldier. - Rotation of camera Press the 4 key on the number pad to rotate the camera anti-clockwise. Press the 6 key on the number pad to rotate the camera clockwise. - Height switch of camera Press PageUp to zoom the camera out. Flow and outline of combat ============================== The overview and flow of combat is introduced here. 'Resource' which lies scattered on the MAP is mined. 'Barracks' are constructed with the collected resources. 'Soldier' is drafted by the barracks from the barracks when enough resources have been collected. The enemy is defeated by drafting soldiers and sending them into fight. The player wins when the 'Victory condition'is fulfilled. Efficiently using resources is the key to victory. The speed of mining resources and the amount mined is directly proportional to the number of mining rigs constructed. Build as many mining rigs as possible throughout the battlefield. - The fight is won by numbers Overwhelming numbers is basically advantageous in a fight. Therefore, draft a lot of soldiers, and fight with superior numbers. - Get the leader on the battlefield frequently The leader is an important soldier who can construct buildings and draft new soldiers. However, a fighting force can only move about with a leader. Using the leader in battle increases the leader's experience and allows that leader to control more soldiers. - Use the landscape to your advantage Use cliffs and rivers to your advantage since bows and magic can be used from a cliff or across a river without getting attacked in returned. Learn how the landscape can be your ally. - Soldier's compatibility Different types of soldiers are better at fighting certain other types of soldiers. For example, Infantry is good against cavalry. Cavalry is good against wizards and wizards are good against infantry. - Learn the weaknesses and strengths so even if you don't have the advantage of numbers, you might have the advantage of strength. - Soldier's characteristic The soldier has the following features. Attention ============================== The game of SEGA RALLY2' does not operate when 'Hundred Swords demo'is started. Therefore, please do the following treatment before SEGA RALLY2'. - Treatment method Please execute [SR2RESTORE.exe] in the folder of installed 'Hundred Swords demo' If it is written to have ended normally according to the procedure, success.
